Human Rights Commitment Statement
ISIFARMER's Public Commitment to Respecting Internationally Recognized Human Rights Across Our Operations, Our Farmer Network, and Our Value Chain
Our Purpose
ISIFARMER exists to democratize access to sustainable urban food production and to accelerate social inclusion. Because our value rests on real social and environmental outcomes, and because we work directly with people who are too often excluded from economic life, respect for human rights is central to who we are.
The Human Rights Commitment Statement is ISIFARMER’s public commitment to respecting internationally recognized human rights. It sets out the frameworks our commitment rests on, the human rights issues most relevant to our business, how we act on and govern that commitment, and how anyone affected can seek remedy.
Scope & Application
This commitment applies to ISIFARMER, S.L. across all areas of our business from our first year of operation. It covers everyone whose human rights may be affected by our activities, including:
- Our employers and workers
- Urban farmers in our network
- Learners participating in our training programmes
- Communities where we operate
- Workers employed by our suppliers and business partners
Our Commitment to Respecting Human Rights
Respecting human rights is the foundation of responsible business. Before creating positive impact, businesses must ensure they do no harm.
At ISIFARMER, we commit to:
- Avoid causing or contributing to adverse human rights impacts through our own activities and address them if they occur.
- Prevent or mitigate impacts linked to our operations, products, or services through our business relationships
- Respect international human rights standards, even where local laws provide a lower level of protection
- Continuously improve our approach by treating human rights as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time commitment.
We expect all employees, suppliers, contractors, and business partners connected to ISIFARMER to uphold these same principles.
International Frameworks We Follow
Our commitment is based on internationally recognised standards that guide responsible business conduct.
UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
We follow the UN Guiding Principles by embedding a public policy commitment, human rights due diligence, and effective remediation processes into our business.

Our Human Rights Due Diligence Process

2. Act
Integrate findings into business decisions to prevent and reduce risks.
3. Monitor
Measure whether our actions are effective through our Annual Purpose and Performance Review.

We review our human rights priorities annually and integrate them into our policies, procurement decisions, fair work practices, and communications.
Access to Remedy
Anyone, including employees, urban farmers, suppliers, learners, or community members, can raise a concern without fear of retaliation.
Our Commitment
Where ISIFARMER has caused or contributed to harm, we commit to working with affected people to provide and appropriate remedy. Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Apology
- Restitution
- Rehabilitation
- Compensation
- Actions to prevent recurrence
Our grievance process is designed to be accessible, fair, transparent, confidential, and consistent with the effectiveness criteria of the UN Guiding Principles.
Governance and Accountability
This commitment is approved by ISIFARMER’s Sole Administrator, our highest governing body, and managed day-to-day by the Chief Impact Officer.
We review our Human Rights Commitment at least annually through our Annual Purpose and Performance Review, measuring progress through our key performance indicators and public reporting.
